Pakistan’s first gold medal: Special Olympic 2015

Pakistani swimmer Asim Zar bagged country’s first gold medal at the 2015 Special Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.

Asim got the gold in the 100 metre Freestyle Division M14 aquatics competition clocking in a time of 00:02:29.56. The star athlete also won two silver medals in 400 metre race and long jump at the 2007 Special Olympics in China.

Asim was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. He joined Special Olympics Pakistan 20 years ago.
