MTV Video Music Awards 2015

Besides VMAs being the roller coaster of one after another antic of various celebrities let’s not forget the winners of this night! Taylor Swift, whose 1989 was the best-selling album of 2014, earned nine nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards to be handed out on Aug 30. Ed Sheeran garnered six nominations, while Beyonce and Ronson each scored five.

Swift took home several of Sunday night’s biggest awards, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, winning for both “Bad blood” (featuring Kendrick Lamar) and “Blank space”.

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars won Best Male Video for their “Uptown funk”. Other big winners include Nicki Minaj for Best Hip-Hop Video, Fetty Wap for the Artist To Watch, and Fall Out Boy for Best Rock Video.

The show, which attracts a young audience prized by advertisers, will air live from the Microsoft Theater, formerly the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The MTV Video Music Awards began in 1984 and helped propel the young cable channel, now owned by Viacom Inc, as a player in the entertainment industry.
